Common mistakes to avoid
Towards the end of my six weeks abroad, I started to miss home. I wish that I savored my last moments abroad a little more, as it went by so fast.

Things I wish I knew before starting
I wish I knew that it was going to be easy to make so many great friends. During the Absolute Internship orientation, I met so many girls that I instantly became friends with.
The hardest part
The hardest part for me was definitley missing my friends and family from home, but I always knew that this would be the hardest part. I am someone who loves my family and being at home, but I still adjusted to living abroad and became very comfortable very fast.
The best decision I made
The best decision I made abroad was saying yes to many weekend trips to other countries. Before leaving for Barcelona, I did not think I was going to travel a lot because it made me nervous. But once I met my group of friends, I was convinced to go to Portugal, Paris, and Morocco, which fufilled my abroad experience to the maximum.
What it's actually like
A typical day
A typical day interning started with me taking the metro to work (which is very easy to navigate), getting set up in the office, and then I would work until about 1:00pm when it was time for lunch. Sometimes I would get lunch with the other interns at my company, meet friends that worked at other places, or just have a quiet lunch by myself. After I would go back to work and finish my day around 5:00pm, and then go back to my student housing. My evenings varied on my mood; some days I just wanted to make dinner and relax, others I would go out to dinner with friends. But no matter what, I always knew that if I texted a friend in my building, they would always want to spend time together.
