This past summer, I spent eight weeks in Madrid, Spain, where I did an international internship in Business Development. Living and working abroad was such an incredible experience that allowed me to meet lots of new people, experience a new culture, and grow both personally and professionally!

What it's actually like

A typical day

I would typically get up, get breakfast at the residence with my fellow interns, head to work, work 10-7, metro home, change, go out to eat with my intern friends, and then go do something around the city before bed!

Questions students ask Brianna

What does a typical day in your internship actually look like?
I would typically metro and arrive at work around 10 am. I would work with my fellow Absolute intern on any current projects we were working on and then meet with my team throughout the day. We would usually head somewhere for lunch around 2 pm and then come back about an hour later. I would work to finish all of our projects before the end of the workday.
How did you land your internship - what did the application process involve?
I originally spoke with an advisor from the Broad Admissions Office at my college who put me in contact with the Absolute team. I had previously met them at career fairs and after applying online got an interview with the team! The team matched me with my company and the rest of the process was very smooth and communicative.
What skills do you wish you had before starting that you'd tell others to prepare?
I feel like going into the experience with an open mind definitely helped me have such an amazing experience, I would recommend other students trust themselves and go in open-minded to the entire experience.
